Affiliations

Inland Northwest Blood Center affiliates with many organizations such as those listed below. These affiliations help ensure state of the art transfusion and transplantation medicine are available for the patients in our service region.

AABB

AABB logoThis international, not-for-profit regulatory association (formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks) is comprised of individual members such as physicians, nurses, scientists, and researchers as well as institutions including hospitals, transfusion/transplantation services, and virtually all of the nation’s blood centers. AABB has been committed to improving health through the development of standards, accreditation, educational programs, and other services related to blood donor and patient care and safety. www.aabb.org

America’s Blood Centers (ABC)

ABC logoABC is an association of not-for-profit, independent community blood centers that helps its members provide excellence in transfusion medicine and related health services. ABC accomplishes its mission by providing leadership in donor advocacy, education, national policy, quality, safety, and means of finding efficiencies for the benefit of donors, patients, and healthcare facilities.  ABC encourages collaboration among blood organizations and acts as a forum for its members to share information and best practices. www.americasblood.org

Blood Systems, Inc. (BSI)

On January 1, 2009, INBC entered into a formal affiliation with Blood Systems Inc., the second largest network for blood centers and services in the nation. This affiliation will allow INBC the advantage of access to larger group purchasing organizations, resources on new and better ways to provide excellent customer service, and the opportunity to participate in research projects. While INBC remains your independent community blood center – a separate corporation with its own governance board – the affiliation with BSI will improve our service and cost effectiveness to patients, donors, hospitals, and our entire community. www.bloodsystems.org

American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI)
ASHI logoA not-for-profit association of clinical and research professionals including immunologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, transplant physicians and surgeons, pathologists and technologists.  ASHI is dedicated to advancing the science and application of histocompatibility and immunogenetics, providing a forum for the exchange of information, and advocating the highest standards of laboratory testing in the interest of optimal patient care. www.ashi-hla.org
